Pretending Paris… in Toronto

Sunday, February 14th, 2016

ColettesVDay2016Paris_LoveIn the lovely light of @ColetteToronto , my friends and I celebrated #Valentines Day brunch this weekend.  Undeterred by wind chill weather of -30C, we worked our way through ricotta lemon pancakes and eggs benedict with salmon and avocado followed by pear ginger macarons and pretended we were in Paris!

Love Story #10 – Wedded Bliss or Extreme Entrepreneurship?

Sunday, February 6th, 2011

Small business, large love – how do spouses who work together stay together?  Taking it to the next level, these entrepreneurs vow “in sickness or in health” not just 9 to 5 but 24/7.  What keeps their love alive while keeping their business afloat?

I asked our booth-mates at a recent trade show.  Mr. Happy Hubby revealed it’s “those little things that count like booking a dinner reservation for Valentine’s Day in January or buying an iPad for her at Christmas but also wrapping up a Coach bag.”

She glanced over and commented, “Honey, you didn’t mention anything about V-Day.”

And although he knew that she knew that he knew (etc. etc.) that she had forgotten, he just smiled sweetly and said, “Oh, I must have forgotten to tell you.  Pencil me in, Honey.”  And he turned and winked at me.

I bet they celebrate not just on V-Day but every day!
