Passage Du Desir

Thursday, March 24th, 2011

Spring arrived so much sooner in the world’s romance capital, Paris.  Spent six blissful days looking for love.  Ooo la la…upon my return to YYZ, inquiring minds wanted to know all.

What they must do is follow my footsteps in The Marais and then through the Passage Du Desir to find the answers.  No loves lost…only found!

To YYZ With Love

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Long distance love? Absence? Not likely after chatting with our Men In Squash a.k.a. MIS. They have never heard of the age-old adage – “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” In particular, the MIS from Down Under – they prefer to stay close to their YYZ loves.

Boarding passes for many MIS read:
Dep SYD Arr YYZ Sydney/Toronto
Dep BNE Arr YYZ Brisbane/Toronto
Dep CBR Arr YYZ Canberra/Toronto

And from another corner of the world, a love-struck squasher from JNB (Jo’burg) arrived in YYZ to be with The One. Sadly, they became a distant Two. But happily, he now met and will be wed to a new One!

Not to be forgotten are the Ladies who Love. From CDG, MOW, and NRT (Paris, Moscow, Tokyo), some remain in YYZ, others have flown but ALL in the name of love.

So is Love the real RTW (Round The World) ticket to happiness? Quantas might be the airline with the answer!

A Kiss is Just A Kiss…or is it?

I still remember meeting Monsieur Mystere at the Bistro - he, already sitting with wine in hand and me, dishevelled (and late), arriving with apologies in abundance.

He orders champagne, mais oui!  We share amusing anecdotes and a small plate of pate.  I smile and wonder….

Now it’s time to say ”au revoir”,  we are at the street corner.  He faces me, puts his hand on the back of my neck.   He pulls me gently towards him and kisses me lightly.

I feel dizzy.  Is it Paris?  Is it the champagne?  Or could it be …. Monsieur Mystere?

I sigh, thinking, “This is just a sigh but THAT kiss…that kiss is NOT just a kiss!”

Spring brings love and kisses!

Long Distance Love

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

He was smitten, she was exhausted.  It was 2007.  She ran her first marathon.  He was at the finish line.  Then six months later, it was his turn to run – back home to work in Japan.  They were on Skype, on the phone, on e-mail, and on flights for three years but technology kept their love alive.

Another love story across continents – he lived in Australia, she lived in Canada via China and France.  His Canadian aunt and also her best friend was vacationing Down Under.  A quick phone introduction  and several calls and e-mails later led to their first meeting in Paris and love.

Love virtually, love truly, love always!
